The first review:
I have received the first review of my book from someone who got it a couple of days ago.

No matter how prepared I was, it still made me skip several heartbeats. As you all know, I suffer from mild anxiety and chronic depression, and writing this book was a hard struggle. There had been days when I wanted to tear my manuscript into a thousand pieces, days when I actually did it, but thankfully I had backups, so the work wasn't really lost. I didn't expect a review this soon, but I am so happy about it. I'm not gonna lie. I thought it would be awful, aha. But it wasn't.
Instead, it was very encouraging and so positive that it made me cry. Someone had read my book! Someone had enjoyed it! Someone wanted to see more of my work, and that made me feel validated as an author. It's hard to describe. I always said that if my work touched at least one soul, then I was happy with releasing my book out there, and I am. I also hope that more people would see it and read it and appreciate it all the same. Typically human, isn't it? Either way, it's encouraging.
It's not a be-all, end-all, but it's definitely a positive start. Stay lively, Dreamers.
